Since 1969, Trebnje has organized annual international meetings of naive artists. The Gallery of Naive Art in Trebnje holds over 700 paintings and sculptures created in this period by 146 artists from 27 countries of Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. The collection is one of the largest and more important collections of naive art in the world, and a walk among the "daring and living images that overwhelm you instantly," as a Japanese visitor wrote in the visitors book is a truly pleasant experience.

The Krka is one of the most interesting karst rivers and with 94 kilometers of surface stream is the longest completely Slovene river. It springs in the Krška jama cave at an altitude of 268 meters above sea level and empties into the Sava River near Brežice. It occupies more than one tenth of Slovene territory and is very attractive for fishermen and kayakers. The Krška jama cave is 200 meters long, easily accessible, and illuminated. With a permanent temperature from 8°C to 9°C, it invites us into a mysterious world of stalactites, bats, cave beetles, the rare Proteus anguinus cave salamander, and a subterranean lake.
