The group of three remarkable Gothic pilgrimage churches known as the "tri fare" or "three parishes" enclosed behind a common wall in the village of Rosalnice two kilometers from Metlika comprise the greatest monument of art history in Bela krajina. They were built in stages: first the south church in the Romanesque period, then the north church at the end of the 14th century, and finally the middle church in the 16th century. Among their most attractive features are the tabernacle built into the wall of the presbytery of the south church and their tombstones, frescoes, and altars. The statue of Mary in the middle church is especially venerated and is clothed. Here also is one of the oldest organs made in Carniola, the work of the Ljubljana organ maker Jonnes Georgius Eisl from 1753.

The old city core of Črnomelj is an archeological monument that because of its rich archeological finds is called "a city above a city." Some of the archeological finds are exhibited in the Pastoral Center where the remains of buildings and walls from the late Roman period and the late Middle Ages can be observed through a glass floor. Also interesting is the restored Malerič House where domestic crafts are exhibited and sold.
