1st day Novo mesto-Trška Gora/Grčevje
Arrival in Slovenia, transfer and accommodation in hotel.
Sightseeing of Novo mesto. In afternoon drive to Trška
gora or Grčevje, winegrowing region near Novo mesto.
Short wine tasting in wine cellar or "zidanica"
and dinner. Return to hotel.
2nd day Bela krajina wine road
After breakfast, drive in Bela krajina, the most southern
winegrowing region of Slovenia. Short stop by the mighty
source of Krupa River, then visit to the old town of
Črnomelj. Next stop we'll make in Lahinja Regional Park,
where we could take a ride with typical carriage - "lojtrnik".
Drive to Metlika and visit to wine cellar and short
wine tasting. Our next stop will be the nearby village
of Rosalnice with the famous Three Churches.These three
gothic churches, which stand side by side, were built
in the 15th century. After sightseeing, visit to Drašiči
where we'll stop in "soseska zidanica", a
special wine cellar, where wine from different winegrowers
is stored in the same barrel. For the end of the day
a typical Bela krajna dinner will be served (baked sucking
pig and lamb), then return to hotel.
3rd day Styria & Bizeljsko
Breakfast. Drive to Slovenian Styria and sightseeing
of Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian town. Short wine tasting
then drive to Slovenske Konjice - town of flowers and
wine. Short stop in former charterhouse Žiče, where
we'll taste some herbal products. Walk through Slovenske
Konjice and visit to wine cellar. Return via Celje and
Sevnica and stop in winegrowing region of Bizeljsko.
Sightseeing of "repnica", a sort of wine cellar,
which is dig in flint stone and can be found only in
this part of Slovenia. Another short wine tasting, then
return in hotel and dinner in castle.
4th day Ljubljana
Breakfast, then drive to Ljubljana and sightseeing.
Transfer and return home.
