After arrival in Novo mesto sightseeing of the medieval part of the city: Kapiteljska cerkev (Chapter Church) which hosts famous Tintoretto's painting of St. Nicholas; Dolenjski Museum with its rich and colourful collections; Glavni trg (Main Square) with arcaded shops and cafés; Breg, a picturesque part of the city above Krka River, etc. Drive to Otočec, short stop on the island and sightseeing of the castle, which has been turned into a luxury hotel. Next stop will be near Šentjernej, in Pleterje Cistercian Monastery. Audio - visual show in old gothic church, which is the only part of the monastery allowed to public, then visit to open air museum of traditional buildings. Last stop will be in Kostanjevica na Krki. Short walk through the old part of the town, which lies on the island and is considered to be one of the oldest municipalities in Slovenia. Visit to Božidar Jakac Gallery in former Cistercian Monastery and view of Forma Viva, wooden sculpture open-air gallery. At the end of our tour we'll visit Kostanjeviška Cave and look at some typical karsts features.
