At the Kontrabantar Tourist Farm at the
foot of Mount Javorniki, you can experience a close encounter
with various interesting farm animals, including among others
horses and ostriches. They offer riding lessons, trail riding,
several-day trips on horseback, carriage and sleigh rides,
and picnics in summer under a kozolec (the traditional Slovene
hayrack), where there is also space for twenty people to sleep.
By prior arrangement, you can also get delicious homemade
meals.

At the Gostilna Miklavčič restaurant
in Velike Bloke, both vegetarians and devoted meat eaters
who want to treat themselves to a real farm feast, a simple
lunch, or a homemade Sunday dinner will come into their own.
The former will be offered healthy, home-produced vegetable
dishes, while the table of the latter will be loaded with
sausages, black pudding, homemade salami, želodec, and various
cured-meat products, and in winter with homemade pork and
sausage delicacies.
