C4 - ALONG THE SOUTHERNMOST PART OF SLOVENIA

Črnomelj - Adlešiči - Marindol - Preloka - Vinica - Špeharji - Radenci

Trail length: 50.1 km.

The trail in south Slovenia is interesting and middle difficult (two slopes). Cycling along the Kolpa River is particularly pleasant. We recommend stops in Adlešiči (flax, painted eggs) and Župančič House in Vinica.

SCHEMATIC MAP

At the castle in Črnomelj, we will ride towards Vinica. At the traffic light we will turn right under the bridge and cross Dobličica and Lahinja. We will continue towards Adlešiči passing Tribuče, Jankoviči and Dolenjci. Here we can turn left and ride to Rim where we can watch how flax is processed from seed to linen. In Adlešiči we can rest and watch the creation of painted eggs and Bela Krajina embroidary and then cycle above the Kolpa canyon towards the former Uskosk village Marindol and Miliči, where the inhabitants still speak with the Stokavian dialect. In Žuniči we can view the Šokec Manor, and then ascend towardsPreloki. This is followed by a descent into the Kolpa Valley. We can visit the Oton Župančič Memorial Room in Vinica and then descend to the Vinica state border. At the border we will ride along the road leading to Učakovci. We will ride alongside the Kolpa River past the former Prokšelj Mill. In Učakovci we will turn onto an agricultural path between the houses which will lead us through the forest to the Vinica-Sinji Vrh asphalt road. This is followed by an ascent to Sinji Vrh, known for its bluish hue and the Fortuno trellis. From Sinji Vrh we will ride past Dalnje Njive and Špeharji. Here we can descend to Breg which is one of the only working mills on the Kolpa River or continue our trip to Radenci.
