H7 - ŽUPANČIČ TRAIL
Vinica
- Krajinski park Lahinja - Dragatuš - Butoraj - Črnomelj.
Trail length: 21.6 km.
The route
runs from the Kolpa Regional Park past the birth house of Oton
Župančič and through the Lahinja Regional Park. We can also stop
in Veliki Nerajec and Pusti Gradec and follow the Lahinja River to
Črnomelj. Shorter ascent to Žeželj.
Most suitable time

In Vinica we will
visit the birth house of Oton Župančič, and then turn right at the
crossroads for Adlešiči. After 500 m we will leave the road. We will
ascend to Žeželj, hiking through Golec following the Chapel of the
Stations of the Cross to the Pilgrimage Church of the Mother of God.
Here we will turn left and descend through the forest to Perudina. We
will continue past the basin and Hrast pri Vinici to Belčji Vrh, from
where we will descend to the Lahinja Regional Park. We will walk along
agricultural paths past Mala Lahinja and Veliki Nerajec. We can spice
up the trip with a visit to Veliki Nerajec and view the Klepec Mill and
Pusti Gradec. We will then continue to Dragatuš, the second home of
Oton Župančič. Here we can take a rest. At the nearby bridge we can
turn towards the source of the Dobreč River, and then continue towards
Butoraj. We will be greeted by the Church of St. Mark upon entering
the village. We will then continue onwards to the Črnomelj-Adlešiči
road, where we will turn left towards Črnomelj.
