Twenty hiking trails measuring a total length of 449 km run from the dry goods region via the Kočevje forests to the southernmost areas of Slovenia along the Kolpa River, from Bela krajina through Gorjanci along the trails of the white monks and pilgrimage trails to Suha krajina and Tufa thresholds at the Krka River.

The countryside is ideal for walks and for enjoying the scenery.

Among other things, it offers:
    • pleasant visits to farms, walks through the forests and villages, - marked trails, e.g. from Trebnje to Mokronog (20 km), along the Krka and Kolpa river valleys and along the the Baraga trail (18 km),
    • long hike along the E7 trail or Trdinova trail through the Kočevski Rog plateau and Gorjanci,
    • Planina - Mirna gora forest learning trail,
    • Rožek natural science forest learning trail in Podturn,
    • good local and regional maps.

The trails are classified into 4 categories:   


hiking on level and hilly surfaces, macadam, forest and field trails prevail, 3-5 hour walk without rests

 leisurely hike over the hills and highlands, possibly with more demanding segments. 5-6 hour walk without rests with a difference in altitude of up to 600 metres.

 

 hiking or trekking in the highlands. leisurely hike over the hills and highlands, possibly with more demanding segements.5-6 hour walk without rests at a difference in altitude of up to 500 metres.


longer hike or trek in the highlands. 7-9 hour hike without rests with a difference in altitude of up to 1200 metres. For people in good condition.
